PURPLE LOOSESTRIFE LYTHRUM ROSY GEM

PURPLE LOOSESTRIFE. A spectacular UK Native perennial producing spikes of eye-catching rose-purple flowers from June to late summer. Naturally found on river margins this is equally at home in the garden border, thriving in all but the driest positions. The flowers are a magnet to bees and butterflies. 100-150cm in full flower.

Cultivation advice PURPLE LOOSESTRIFE LYTHRUM ROSY GEM

• Scatter very thinly to the growing position from early spring on open soil that has raked to a fine tilth with all weeds removed.
• Rake in very lightly.
• Keep well watered in dry periods.
• Beware young seedlings are very vulnerable to slugs.
• Thin seedlings to 30-45cm apart.
• Will readily self-seed if left to scatter.
