Okra Jing Orange
Okra Jing Orange. A stunning variety from Asia producing reddish orange pods (6-7in) on tall vigorous 6fy plants. The flowers make this a very ornamental variety as well. Will not thrive in cool or damp conditions, needing warmth to thrive. Drought tolerant. Best grown under glass in the UK.
Cultivation Advice
- Sow under cover from 4-6 weeks before last frost with ample warmth provided.
- Sow 1/2-3/4 inch deep, 2 to a pot and thin to strongest seedling,
- or thinly in rows, thinning to 18-24 inches between plants.
- Plant to the growing position under glass from late spring.
- A very sunny, warm and sheltered location is required in order to maximise harvest.
- Best grown under glass in the UK.
- Harvest pods when they are young and tender, 5-6 inches long.
- Keep ripe pods picked to encourage production.
