Herb Fennel Common Green
Herb Fennel Common Green is a robust and popular perennial herb, which is equally at home in the border or Veg patch. It prefers rich moist soil with added organic matter upon which it will form large clumps of feather foliage of large crowns of yellow flowers in late summer. Not to be confused with the vegetable “Florence / sweet fennel”.
Cultivation Advice
- Sow in mid spring to late summer in shallow drills or in trays
- This can grow to a large plant therefore sow sparingly.
- As the seedlings become large enough to handle thin them or plant out to 18 – 24 Inches between each plant.
- Prefers Full / Part sun in soil with ample organic matter. If allowed to dry out the plant will quickly go to seed.
- Keep the plants well-watered.
