Gloxinia Sinningia Empress Mix F1. A stunning houseplant with small leaves and spectacular display of trumpet shaped flowers. Across a blend of red, purple, pink bi-colour and lavender bi-colour. With a small quantity of purple spotted on white and red spotted on white.
Cultivation Advice
- Best sown from Dec to Mar.
- Finely surface sow (Do not cover) the seeds on free draining fine low nutrient seed compost.
- Pre-treat compost with fungicide to prevent damping off disease.
- Cover trays / pots with glass to retain humidity during germination.
- These seeds require light to germinate.
- Germination averages 21 days @ 20-C.
- Gloxinia need artificial heat, a windowsill will not be sufficient.
- Remove cover as soon as germination is visible.
- If germinate you can drop the temperature to 18-22C.
- Avoid feeding with any fertilizer with a salt content.
- When large enough to handle prick out into pots and grow on around 18C.
- Ensure plants are shaded from direct strong sunlight.
