BLUE FESCUE – FESTUCA GLAUCA. Clumping ornamental perennial grass with an eye-catching, low growing habit that is excellent in pots and at the front of borders. A better coloured variant of the common “Varna” seen overground is Festuca “Blue select”. It is drought tolerant and performs well in dry summers, which will improve the leaf colour of this grass. Height 30cm with a spread of 25-30cm
Cultivation Advice BLUE FESCUE – FESTUCA GLAUCA BLUE SELECT

Sow under cover in post of warmth in early Spring or direct outside once all danger of frost has passed at 20C.
Very light, seed-based compost with good drainage like anything in the order Plumbaginaceae. Seed only needs pressing into a growing medium.
With an average of 14-21 days to germination.
Harden off young plants (harden of means to acclimatize the plant) when all risk of frost has gone and position in a growing position around 12in apart.
The young plants will be silver green in the beginning and get its leves blue silver when being adult.
If you do not want them to self-seed and spread, cut back the flower/seed stalks as they form in late winter or early spring for mature plants.
