Cultivation Advice
-
General Sowing information: Sow in late spring/early summer outdoors in a sheltered, shady site 1cm(½in) deep. Space for sowing the seeds similarly and of that use pots or trays as well.
Germination: 14-21 days at about 20° C (68° F)
Prick seedlings out when large enough to handle (we found that pricked-out seedlings had a more extensive root system).
Plant out thinly to 10-15cm (4-6in) apart when large enough to handle and transfer final flowering site in the autumn at a distance of 23cm (9in), ensuring sun or partial shade for springtime blooming.
“Bellis” requires full sun. Try not to keep it moist and over-water the plants.
