BRUSSEL SPROUTS BRODIE F1

Brussel Sprouts ‘Brodie F1’ is anplae beautyfully delicious The modern hybrid seeds are the best foundation for a brussels sprout plantation, growing in their tropical and homogeneous formation. It produces dwarf, stubby plants that stand at about 24-30 inches. The sprouts are firm and well packed, measure 1-1.5 inches across, while the plants stand up to all weathers because they mature in September/October when temperatures sink. Prefers moist, well-drained acid soil This variety is especially suited to cool climates and grows best in rich soil enhanced with organic matter. Plant in full sun and water throughout the growing season. Sprouts are best when firm and bright green in color. The second most popular one for a little variety, is Brussels sprouts; Brodie F1-types are in highest demand because these make very dark green tasty buttons that you can roast or steam and sauté.

  • Sow in spring (perhaps indoors soon) for a super-early crop but watch out as it will run to seed if stressed early on.
  • Or plant seeds directly outdoors from late Spring after last frost (Apr-May).
  • Sow seeds 1/8 inch deep into fine soil. Water: Moderate before germination
  • If grown indoors, thin seedlings to 2 inches apart when they are 2 inches tall or transplant them into individual pots.
