Green Manure – Field Bean

Green Manure – Field Bean for late sowing Sep Nov annually, especially on heavier soils where their deep roots are not only able to penetrate & break up the soil, but fix valuable nitrogen too. Its foliage when dug in will add additional organic matter.

Cultivation Advice

• Best Sown Sep ? Nov at a rate of 20gm per Meter Square.
• Clear any weeds, rake to a fine tilth and broadcast sow at approx. 20 Gram per square meter, lightly cover / dig in with the ideal sowing depth 5cm.
• Seedlings will germinate within 7-14 days in warm soil.
• Green manure should be cut down before flowering when young and tender to help faster incorporation into the soil. Dig area over prior to following crop.
